How To Die; Especially For Nigerians And Their Leaders By Ifeoluseyi Ifeoluwapo Ifeyemi

I
Come closer, tend those lazy ears
To these words which births fears,
Words of how paradisaical promises
transmute in the light of lies into penury;
Fed finely to our corruption colonized bellies

II
Listen to the dirges dredging our tiny holes of woes
Into the seas of sorrows of how useless past mocks our pitiful present
Laughing us to scorn for fatal foolishness flexed by our ignorance
When our thumbs trumped the devil we knew into reproach and ruins
Gracing the glory of the angel we knew not and has gone nuts

III
Let me tell you how the Africa's giant cares,
For famished families whose sweat water Aso's garden
For the long awaited leftovers of the kings treasury table
Mindlessly lavished on war of thrones in guise of good governance

IV
Here is a theory of how to die,
Propunded by the very head we crowned
On the promises of pleasing our improverished images,
Losing forms to finishing famines of the essentials of life,
like our daily bread and breath of hope of coping in life's stormy strugglecom
