A journalist with US based magazine, Foreign Policy, revealed many damning facts from the ongoing investigation into the scandal which is considered one of the biggest oil heist in the world. According the Staff Writer, Robbie Gramer, new facts from investigations into the fraud surrounding the Shell/ENI deal that was sealed during the last administration in 2011, and shows that a Nigerian businessman allegedly withdrew $54,418,000 in cash after the deal was sealed.


The deal has witnessed a prolonged court trial following allegations that Shell and ENI connived with a former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Dan Etete and other powerful government officials to defraud the Nigerian government of the $1.1 billion paid for the acquisition of the Nigerian OPL 245 oil block.
